Reflection: Learning

-Literacy program in NSTP-LTS

-January 7 and 14, 2012

-my groupmates namely : Franco, Allysa; Chanco, Andrew: Fernando, Nikki: Estrada, Bon; Dionisio,Jed; Delara, Alea;Cana, Genelle;

- goal is to motivate our students in our LTS program in academic especially the incoming National Achievement Test.

The short term programs refers to skills that we can apply in our day-to-day basis like the disaster and welfare management wherein skills and abilities takes place while the long term program refers to the program that takes a year that it can learned. Last semester, we had also programs and activities that was conducted like outreach program in Gugo elementary school and activities inside the campus like disaster management. I was able to apply whatever I have been through and I know that “experience can teach us”. From there, I learned many things from things that I wasn’t able to and learned through it. Based from my experience, I handle different children the way they talked, they think and their gestures. Whatever I have learned from my psychology(Psy 2A) class from mam Medina, I was able to apply even the way I handle the students especially in teaching them.

They made me happy and as well as they were the one who were able to appreciate thing even in small things like.

One of the most unforgettable experience is I handle a 2 students wherein I can’t able to discipline and I having a hard time to communicate with them. It was not easy for me to do that thing especially if you are new in the world of teaching. Reality makes me strong because whatever I see, I hear and I feel, I was able to detect and analyze what are things should be do and priority. As a student and a citizen of this country, I was able to learn things to face the reality world. Mistakes will correct us eventually in the future. Whatever I encountered from my fieldwork, I was able to enjoy it and at the same there is learning through experience. Experience that will marked as a true person to face whatever the reality is. I’m so happy that whatever I learned in the classroom, I was able to apply it outside and to move like a true person.

There is no learning if you will not do through action. One thing that I l earned through is the psychology on how you are going to handle children at young age. I knew that every children has different capacity and ability. This is true for me because the way they think is there is a correspondent action. As a future educator someday, I will be remembering this experience and the learning inside and outside the school.

Children's Right

After I watch the documentary made by Batang Kalabaw" by Jay Taruc, I feel sad on them because at their early age, they are now working by themselves to have a income for their day-to-day basis in order to survive. As I see the footage of every scene, I can see in their faces the hardship, pursue and interest despite of their life condition in their family. On one segment, there is a small little girl who wasn’t able to get her “pay” from her work. I so sad when I heard that one because she worked hard on it and at the end, she got nothing at all. I just close my eyes and I can’t imagine from what had happened.

There is a right for the children that they should be given proper education, care and all the things that they needed on the daily life. They were not able to enjoy the life as being a child and they were forced to work even their parents doesn’t know about it. The responsibilities towards children are take care of them, treat them properly, give the love and affection which really needed as they grow up. There should center for all children wherein that the center will serve as a “playground” for them because it is one of the rights that they should have and share to them whatever we have.

At the end, we should be give them whatever they need like love, food, shelter, care and affection and treating them equally. These children needs and we wanted to have a better future if we are going to give or supply whatever they need. Give importance and lets appreciate them as being a child. :)
